Who We Are

Caroline Peterson, DC, PhD, MPH, CPM
Dr Peterson is a chiropractic physician, midwife, anthropologist, and epidemiologist. Caroline Peterson is a postdoctoral fellow at OHSU through the National Institutes of Health Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM). Her fellowship is through the department of neurology with posting in the department of obstetrics & gynecology. Her dissertation was on breech presentation.
Caroline Peterson will be conducting all study visit assessments and intervention.


W. Thomas Gregory, MD

Dr. Gregory is an obstetrician and gynecologist who specializes in urogynecology at OHSU. He is Caroline Peterson's mentor. Tom Gregory's research focuses on pelvic floor function and dysfunction related to childbearing and aging. Dr. Gregory is the principal investigator for the pregnancy-related low back pain study in Portland, Oregon.


Mitchel Haas, DC, MA
Dr. Haas is a chiropractic physician and the dean of research at Western States Chiropractic College. He is a co-mentor for Caroline Peterson. Mitch Haas is currently conducting research on low back pain, chiropractic manipulation, and time to recovery.





Jau-Shin Lou, MD, PhD
Dr. Lou is a neurologist who specializes in neuromuscular diseases. He also directs the OHSU autonomic neurology lab. Jau-Shin Lou currently researches herbal treatment for diabetic neuropathy and fatigue in Parkinson's disease.
